SDG 3: ENSURE HEALTHY LIVES AND PROMOTE WELL-BEING FOR ALL.

MMAARS has pioneered and developed the MARS MEDICS Training and Astro-Wellness Programs addressing mental health and well-being for populations living in isolated and confined environments (I.C.E.). The Mars Medics Analog Astronautics Training missions focus  on space medicine, biomedical and biotechnology innovations. Mission crews enter fully “in-person” immersive simulations living and working together in a transdisciplinary, multicultural analog Mars environment in MMAARS MBTS. The missions are specifically focused on innovations for explorations in space medicine, Astro-wellness, space food production and nutrition. The Astro-Wellness Program is part of a long-term project under MMAARS looking at developing countermeasures and various ways to help mitigate stress, conflict and anxiety, to increase crew bonding and cohesion, and to support effective communication and collaboration. Additionally, the program’s objectives are to find new ways to help maintain wellness and wellbeing for analog astronaut crews or expedition teams living in I.C.E. during analog astronaut simulation missions in low, mid, and high fidelity situations. The integration of various “art” modalities and exponential technologies, such as canvas painting, 3D and 360 immersion painting, dance, 435Mhz sonic meditation, music, poetry, sound-bath immersion, sculpturing, body mapping art, tai chi, yoga, martial arts, body wrapping ballet, and 3D printing art, are some examples of activities that crews engage in during their missions. They test, develop, and innovate ways to support future human space exploration and Martian-Lunar settlements, and apply the spin-off benefits to improve life on Earth. The crews engage in scientific studies and R&D related to exponential technologies, such as 3D printing, genetic tools, telemedicine and telehealth technologies, AI, spatial computing (XR), robotics, drones, and blockchain technologies.

SDG 9: BUILD RESILIENT INFRASTRUCTURE, PROMOTE INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE INDUSTRIALIZATION,  AND FOSTER INNOVATION.

MMAARS is training future leaders and innovators for the 21st Century and innovating novel  technologies for the New Space Era to support future Martian-Lunar settlements, and creating new opportunities for a future workforce in Space and on Earth. MMAARS will retrain and upskill specialized professionals to work in the New Space industries. MMAARS values are INCLUSIVITY and DIVERSITY, and we are committed to forming international, trans-disciplinary teams collaborating to solve challenging problems with exponential technologies that will impact billions of lives, to enable the development of innovative commercial space-focused industries, and to create healthier and sustainable ‘green city’ models for Earth, including Martian-Lunar settlements by the 2030s. Our graduates can continue higher level training which will equip them with the tools, knowledge, and skill sets to become effective future Leaders and Founders, i.e., “Superheros of the 21st Century”. MMAARS collaborates and partners with various organizations who are working in underserved, underdeveloped countries to teach the local workforce in innovation, to improve their employment opportunities, and to support the local gross domestic product.
